Project Overview

The University of New England’s new synthetic turf field was constructed in just over 3 months, over the short 2010 summer break and will be utilized by the university for field hockey, soccer and lacrosse. The site work included clearing and grubbing, ledge removal, installation of a complex underdrain system to drain the field, and installation of the second NCAA college blue synthetic turf field in the country. A surplus material pile was left onsite for the college to utilize in the next phase of the campus expansion. Restoration of the site included stadium bleachers including a press box, stadium lighting, fencing, bicycle racks, paved access roadway, and landscaping and seeding.
