Shaw Brothers was the successful auction bidder for both the “Busque quarry” on Route 302 / Nash Road in Windham and the “Libby Pit” on Route 35 in Standish. The “Busque quarry”, now also called “Shaw Brothers O Pit” was named after the late Peter Busque who was the former owner of the property. This quarry was previously approved and is already being operated. With an estimated 15 million cubic yards of rock, O Pit will be a major aggregate provider and stockyard location in the Windham area for many, many years.
Measuring 96 acres, the Libby Pit, now called “N Pit” was originally part of a dairy farm. It was previously approved and operated by Peter Busque and contains large quantities of quality gravel. N Pit will be an important source of aggregate materials for Shaw Brothers’ projects and other contractors in the Standish and Windham area for a long time.
